#7 Church Street is a highly successful restaurant with rooms in the beautiful pedestrianised centre of Monmouth town; being awarded two AA rosettes just weeks after opening demonstrates the quality of their food and service. We chat with acclaimed Head Chef and owner Mark Turton and his partner Bea Sebestyen…

What’s new at #7 Church Street since we last spoke?
We refurbished most of our rooms at the end of winter which has been very rewarding. We have eight B&B en-suite rooms and attract all types of guests from foodies, walkers, golfers, cyclists (we have storage for bicycles), and of course theatre goers with the Savoy theatre opposite us. Our rates include full English or continental breakfast. We’re family friendly and travel cots are available on request.

Summer is coming and we have a new menu with lovely local ingredients from the summer season. And in the morning and afternoons when we’re not serving meals our delicious home-made cakes and coffee are available.

We are now members of GlutenFreeDining: www.glutenfreedining.co.uk; we make sure that we always have plenty of gluten free options on our menu and we always have gluten free cakes as well.

You mentioned the Savoy Theatre – do you offer pre-theatre meals?
Yes we work alongside the Savoy Theatre and always have pre and post-theatre and cinema offers; for those who want something lighter we have a sharing platter on our menu. It’s ideal to pop in before or after the shows for something delicious and a glass of wine or two.
