Sara Ayliffe is an admin on the Wye Life photo corner. “I am a born and bred in Herefordshire,” says Sara, “and very proud of the beauty of the county.” Sara works as a Therapy Support Worker with the NHS in the community (we’re clapping and typing), so gets out and about quite a bit in her role. Sara believes that photography can be a welcome respite from the pressures of life. Here Sara shares her thoughts and some of her favourite images.

Where do you live?
Ross-on-Wye. I really love it here.

When did you become interested in photography?
I have always enjoyed taking photographs but it was the start of the Wye Life photo corner that got me really enthusiastic about doing more. My good friend Gill Jones had posted on there, and I thought I could post on there too. I posted a photo and got a good response and I have not turned back – it’s now become a real passion.

Are there any photographers you particularly admire?
I think everyone has something good to admire. I believe anyone can take a photograph. And it is true, the more you do it, the more confident you get.

A Canon bridge camera affectionately known as Colin, and a Canon 80D. I’m a Canon girl.

Hobby or professional?
Definitely hobby. I find photography very relaxing. I have a busy job and photography is just so different from that.

What do you love about photography?
It encourages me to go out for walks. I have lost five stone since taking up photography it’s made me much healthier and happier.

What is your favourite photograph?
I don’t really have a favourite but I have attached a few I really like.
