Independently owned and managed by Joe Brandt, the highly experienced and qualified team at Acer Tree Services have been providing a complete range of professional tree services to their customers across Herefordshire and the surrounding counties for over thirty years.

From essential tree maintenance through to tree felling and stump removal, they are committed to delivering a prompt, high quality and reliable service every time. “For each job we carry out an initial, no obligation site visit” explains Joe, “which allows us to assess the speci c job requirements and any potential health and safety or environmental issues. Only then will we take the customer through our recommendation and agree a course of action”.

The team at Acer also have the experience to advise customers on dealing with Tree Preservation Orders (TPOs) and any requirements of the local planning process. In addition, they offer a 24 hour call out service for emergencies. As you would expect, Acer Tree Services are covered by £5m public liability insurance alongside £5m employers liability insurance. “Having insurance is obviously important for customer peace of mind, but the critical thing is not having to call on it,” says Joe. “That is why staff training and attention to detail is a priority in all that we do”.

They manage their work to the latest British Standards, with staff trained to the highest levels in not only all aspects of tree surgery and the operation of associated machinery, but also in important areas such as rst aid, aerial rescue, and traf c management. “When dealing with potentially dangerous machines like chainsaws, sometimes in extreme conditions, health and safety has to be at the forefront of our minds”. It is this ‘belt and braces’ professional approach that has not only made the business so successful, recently winning signi cant local government contracts, but has also enabled Acer Tree Services to join the small number of tree surgeons approved by the Arboriculture Association. “Being independently audited ensures that we are doing the right things, and helps us to offer the best possible service to our customers” says Joe.

As part of that service, and knowing that not all jobs need professional tree surgeons to carry them out, Acer Tree Services have recently started a one day workshop to provide people with the basic knowledge and skills to maintain and operate a chainsaw safely.

“Many people own or hire chainsaws for small jobs such as cutting up logs. We want to make sure that they do it safely and know how to look after their saw. If people are interested, all details can be found on our website.” With different challenges every day, Joe and his team are ready and equipped to take them on.
